Christmas 2008

Hendrix's first Christmas was so incredible! We had my mom and dad, my in-laws, and Raul and Audra all here for the holidays!! My parents and Raul and Audra stayed for a week. It was so much fun! We played Rock Band a lot. We even had our own band (Raul, Audra and I) called Lipstick Tube, inspired by Audra's dog Wilson. Raul rocked the guitar, Audra sang beautifully, and I played the drums. My mom, Audra and I also went and saw Twilight! We had been wanting to see it since it came out, but wanted to go together, so waited until Christmas. We have all read the book and were really excited about the movie. Mixed feelings on what we thought about it. We also went wine tasting!! So much fun! I actually decided I might like wine. We had one called Vintage Ink Red (ssooooooo good) I even bought a bottle! We broke the Christmas rules and had Christmas early! haha we were very excited! Hendrix had a lot of fun! He was spoiled rotten! Of course! Raul and Audra made us some amazing Christmas decorations. Raul hand carved and painted guitar ornaments for our tree, but they are going to be hung up in our Guitar room in the off season. They were incredible, and Audra made a beautiful sled, a NOEL hand painted ornament, and a mitten that was like a golf ball! Very talented people those two! I had a picture of Sugar eh drawn for Raul, that made them cry (GO ME)! Plus we all got UW gear (YES)!! Brian loved his! We had quite a few awesome dinners, thanks to Audra. Also, a GREAT Christmas lunch! Thanks to everyone! What an incredible holiday it was. We went to church wednesday night for a Christmas program. It was great! Way to much to write out, or even explain, it was PERFECT! My parents got to go back to Seattle with Raul and Audra, we were very excited for them. My dad have never been, so they should have tons of fun!! Some of my crazy family members did the annual dog biscuit eating, and my mom I guess didn't have enough, because then she tried to sneak some in her Pepsi cup! We were very sad to see them go, but so glad they all came! It's a wonderful life!

Twilight Movie!

So I am starting to get excited about the Twilight movie coming out! At first, I didn't think it looked good at all because most the characters look different than I pictured, but the more I see the previews, the more excited I am! I started reading the series over again last week, they are such good books! I am hoping maybe Audra, my mom and I can go see it on our Christmas break!!

Great Weekend!

Last weekend was very exciting! My brother, Raul, from Long Beach, showed up Wednesday night surprising us! It was so great to have him here. I think him and Hendrix really hit it off. We went out Friday night after Chris Thomas' wedding with a lot of our cousins we rarely get to see. Downtown Boise at the Cactus. It was great. I got to see one of my cousins I haven't seen for probably over 15 years. Javier, my father in law, also decided to surprise everyone. He showed up at Delfinas house, called her on her phone at 11:00 PM and said "open the door". We all were very excited. Sat. we had a BBQ and played horseshoes all night. Next weekend Chrissy and Blaine are coming to stay with us. I am SO excited. I haven't seen Chrissy since Brian and I's wedding. It should be fun!

Happy Father's Day

Today is Father's Day and I wanted to add a couple of pics of great dads to my blog. Since we have a new one this year (Brian for those of you who are confused), and of course the classics are also important (Tim my dad and Javier my father in law). Today we had breakfast with Brian's family, then my mom and dad came over later. We watched Jon Reep's stand up on comedy central, "that boy is a character!" Hendrix got Brian a wallet that has a slide show digital thingy of pics of him and me (mom), and of Brian and his friends. He also got him Cops the 20th anniversary DVD. Brian LOVES cops!! So we had a pretty good day. We also watched golf ALL day (yawn), but it was Brian's day so I kept my mouth shut. hee hee. Brian is the most incredible father! It seems to come so natural to him. He helps out so much! Thank goodness, because raising a baby is HARD! I am so appreciative of him for so many things. I am very lucky to have him in my life, and so is Hendrix! We also know how lucky we are to have the fathers we have too. My dad and I have always been close, most of you know. I told him today I missed our fishing trips, so hopefully we can pick that back up! We were fishing buddies for a long time! I got him a card that had a daughter and dad fishing and it said "Dad, what is a period?" and the dad says "It's what comes at the end of a sentence." I thought that was pretty funny, and accurate! And I am so lucky to have Javier as a father in law. He is a very kind person! And even though we dont get to see him much, it is always nice when we do! Thanks for being GREAT fathers, this day is for you!!

The Strangers

So last Sunday my mother and I went and saw "The Strangers". I think I can honestly say, I can't remember ever being that scared watching a movie! I went home to research the "real" story. Well, I came to find out, it is not real, thank goodness!! Knowing that, you would think it wouldn't scare me anymore. Oh no, it still scares the living crap outta me, and when I wake up in the middle of the night to feed Hendrix, all I can do is stare at our door, waiting for the stupid thing to start knocking! So if you are looking for a good scare, go see it. Sorry if you go see it and hate it! All I can say is "Is Tamara home?"

Already 6 weeks old!

I can't believe how much Hendrix has already grown! I feel like I can literally watch him grow! He eats so much, he is turning into a butterball. Brian always says, everyone loves a fat baby! He is starting to laugh in his sleep, which makes us laugh until we cry. I can't even imagine what they dream about that makes them so happy? He is also smiling a lot! It melts our hearts. Frank Sinatra puts him to sleep, and Pantera is no longer his favorite, (it was when he was still in my belly, which I could not figure out why)! Ironically, Little Wing, by Jimi Hendrix, is still one he really likes. Funny because that is our nickname for him. He has a very BIG pouty lip, makes me laugh everytime he pulls it out! He is developing quite the personality.

May 11th 2008 Mothers Day

So I decided to start a blog, now that I know what it even is, mainly because we have so many family and friends that live far away, and now with the new addition to our family, I figured this would be the easiest way to keep everyone up on what is happening. My brothers girlfriend, Audra, has her own blog and I thought it was really fun, so I copied her (thanks Audra)! Today is my very first Mothers Day, and my son has pretty much slept through it. Not that I am complaining, we sure cherish these times so we can get stuff done! My in-laws are on their way over for a BBQ. The grandparents can't get enough of the little guy! My husband got me a Mothers Day frame with a picture of Hendrix and I when I had first had him. What a great guy huh! He is so perfect and little! What an incredible journey we have started, an incredible never ending journey. I am looking forward to every minute of it!
